Aldmere Ltd | Web Development & Digital Products

Aldmere Ltd

Clear communications. Useful digital tools.

We help organisations communicate well, through practical consultancy and digital products built for the job.

We work with voluntary bodies, membership organisations, and small businesses that need their communications to actually do something.

What we do

We do two things, and they reinforce each other.

Statutory publishing for parish and town councils

Every parish and town council in England carries legal publishing duties: agendas online at least three clear days before each meeting, minutes within a month, the accounts and audit documents each summer, and the annual notice of public rights, all on time, every time. For smaller councils, getting this right is the condition of exemption from routine external audit.

We handle it. Your clerk emails one address. Anything received by 2pm on a working day is published that working day, confirmed by reply, and recorded in a publication log you can show your internal auditor. We publish only from your council's registered sender address, so nobody else can put words on your board. Nothing lives in anyone's personal account, so when the clerk changes, everything stays with the council.

The service costs £175 per year, everything included. That is the same bracket as your internal audit fee, and it protects the same exemption.

See it working: we maintain a complete model council board at pinboardly.com/examplecouncil, with every statutory document, date and deadline handled the way yours would be.

Communications consultancy

We help organisations work out what they want to say, who they want to say it to, and how to do it without wasting effort.

Typical work includes:

Communications strategy and audit
Brand development and guidelines
Editorial planning for newsletters, magazines, and podcasts
Internal and member communications
Campaign and event communications

We bring senior project and commercial experience to the table, so the advice is grounded in delivery, not theory.

Digital Products

We build and operate our own web platforms. Each one is designed to solve a specific communications problem simply.

The first platform we developed was Pinboardly, a hosted noticeboard for community groups, clubs, and voluntary organisations to publish notes, links, and events on one easy-to-manage public page. Groups can subscribe directly at pinboardly.com.

Because we build and run the platform ourselves, nothing our clients publish depends on a third-party vendor's pricing, roadmap, or survival. That matters most to our council clients, whose statutory records need a permanent home.

How we work

We keep things deliberately straightforward.

  • Scoped properly We agree what's in and what isn't before we start.
  • Fixed fees where possible Retainers where the work is ongoing. Day rates only where genuinely needed.
  • Plain English No jargon, no surprises, no padding the invoice.
  • Independent We don't subcontract to people you haven't met.

We're intentionally small. That's a feature, not an apology: it means the person you brief is the person doing the work.

Who we work with

We work with organisations that take their communications seriously but don't have the in-house capacity to do everything themselves. That includes:

  • Parish and town councils:statutory publishing handled for a fixed annual fee
  • Voluntary and membership organisations: charities, fraternal bodies, clubs, and community groups
  • Small and owner-managed businesses: particularly those with a specialist product, technical service, or B2B offering that needs explaining well
  • Organisations launching something new: campaigns, products, events, or fundraising appeals

About Aldmere

Aldmere Ltd is a UK-registered limited company based in the North East of England.

We combine senior communications and commercial experience with practical digital delivery. Our directors bring a background in project management, commercial management, and communications work, including extensive involvement in voluntary-sector communications.

Where projects need it, we build the digital infrastructure to support the work. Where they don't, we'll tell you honestly that an off-the-shelf tool will do the job better.

We're product-led, technically focused, and intentionally small, so clients deal directly with the people doing the work.

That combination of commercial discipline and communications craft is what lets us take responsibility for work with statutory deadlines attached.
